Discord fonts — fancy text you can paste anywhere
Type your server, channel or role name once and copy it in any of 21 styles. The preview shows it as a server name and as a channel name, the way Discord will display it.
Where styled letters work on Discord
- ✓
Server name. Up to 100 characters. The most common use.
- ✓
Text channel names. Discord forces normal letters to lowercase; styled letters keep their shape — which is why servers use them.
- ✓
Role names. Shown in the member list and on profiles.
- ✓
Display name and server nickname. Up to 32 characters.
- ✓
About me and messages. In messages, Discord's own **bold** and *italic* are often the better choice.
- ✕
Username. Since 2023 usernames only accept a–z, 0–9, underscore and period.
Three things to know before you rename everything
Styled letters are not searchable
"𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥" and "general" are different characters. A member who searches a channel, or types @ to mention a role, will not find a styled name by typing the plain word. Keep the word that people type — the channel topic, the role they ping — in plain letters, and style the decoration around it.
Some screen readers spell them out
Assistive technology may read "mathematical bold capital D" instead of "D", or skip the character. If your community includes people who use a screen reader, keep at least the essential names readable.
Not every style renders everywhere
The filled squared letters turn into colour emoji on iPhone. Strikethrough and underline stack a combining mark on every letter, which some fonts draw slightly off. Paste the result in a test channel before renaming your whole server.
Server renamed — now put it where people look for communities.
discordplace.com shows your server with its real name, its description and its live voice and text activity. Listing is free.
List your Discord serverFrequently asked questions
Can you change the font on Discord?+
No. Discord uses its own font everywhere and does not let servers or users change it. What this tool produces are different Unicode characters that look like styled letters, so they display the same way for everyone, on every device that has a font for them.
How do I make a bold or cursive channel name on Discord?+
Type the channel name above, pick the style, click Copy, then paste it in the channel name field (Edit Channel → Overview). Discord lowercases normal letters in text channel names, but styled letters are separate characters and keep their shape.
Why can't I use these letters in my Discord username?+
Since the 2023 username change, Discord usernames only accept lowercase letters a–z, digits, underscores and periods. Your display name and server nicknames still accept styled letters.
Will a styled server name hurt how people find my server?+
Inside Discord, members typing the plain word will not match it. On discordplace.com the styled name is shown as you wrote it, and the page also carries a plain-text version so search engines can read your server name.
Is this generator free?+
Yes, with no account and no limit. Everything runs in your browser — the text you type is not sent anywhere.
